MedTec’s Internal F.E.A

MedTec will often use FEA throughout our design stages to allow for optimisation of products and parts. Our practical approach to simulation allows us to offer a very competitively priced service. The initial simulations conducted during the design stages are charged at our standard drafting hourly rates. Therefore, clients only incur full professional fees if they require final simulations or calculations to be signed off by a chartered engineer.

In addition to stress analysis for structural requirements, MedTec can offer Modal Analysis of components to determine vibration issues, and Dynamic Simulation to allow investigation of driving forces and reactions in mechanisms.

Facilities We Operate Across:

  • MIG, TIG, MMA and Spot Welding
  • Plasma, laser and water jet profiling
  • Machining including drilling, milling and turning
  • Jig manufacture
  • Fitting and Assembly

Fabrication Case Study

MHI Vestas Offshore Wind approached MedTec concerning modernisation of some of its prototype blade production equipment. Specifically, replacing storage trolleys made from wooden pallets with a tooling transit/stowage solution that combined functionality with a clean advanced appearance, which echoed the visons of the business.

MedTec were keen to ensure stakeholder requirements were fully evaluated, and embraced the concept of ‘poka-yoke’ in their design deliverables. Together with their manufacturing partner, MedTec delivered an innovate suite of tooling stowage trolleys, which have been well-received by production operatives.

The stowage system offers many advantages to production efficiency, with a notable reduction in damage and misplacement of the specialist tooling.
